Kittitas County is located in central Washington State. Its diverse geography goes from the mountainous Cascades on its western border, through the Yakima River Valley and to the Columbia River basin in the east.

The L.T Murray Wildlife Area offers sagebrush hillsides and stands of Ponderosa Pine and Douglas fir, this wide-ranging and abundant habitat is perfect for all types of nature lovers. This County offers a wide array of historical sites including the Thorp gristmill from the 1880, listed in the National Register of Historical Places, and the Kittitas Historical Museum in Ellensburg. Also home to Kittitas and Ellensburg is Central Washington University.
